First Hawaiian Bank celebrated the opening of its new branch at the Lahaina Cannery Mall with a blessing and a donation Friday.

“We are deeply committed to serving Lahaina and ensuring that this community has the support and partnership it deserves to thrive once again,” Bob Harrison, First Hawaiian Bank chairman, president, and CEO, said in a statement. “The reopening of our Lahaina branch is another opportunity to work together with our customers and neighbors to rebuild and move forward.”

Bank officials said in a news release that they remain committed to returning to its original Lahaina branch site, which was destroyed in the Aug. 8, 2023, wildfires, “once it is deemed appropriate and approved.”
