Longtime Kelowna radio talk show host Phil Johnson is stepping away from his regular morning duties on AM 1150.
Johnson, 76, has been in broadcasting for 55 years. His last regular morning show will be Oct. 3.
But the veteran broadcaster will still host a weekly show on the station and provide occasional editorials in the months ahead.
“Phil’s career has always been about more than just radio,” said Ken Kilcullen, vice-president of talent and regional manager for Vista Radio in the Okanagan.
“It’s been about showing up for the community, rain or shine, and lending his credibility and compassion in times when it was needed most,” Kilcullen said.
