■ What happened: There was plenty of offense for Toledo during the first quarter. But not nearly enough points for Jason Candle’s liking.

The Rockets totaled 101 yards in 15 plays — good for a paltry three points. The biggest issue was UT’s inability to convert on third down. The Rockets were 0 for 3, with one potential scoring drive stalling out and another ending before it could begin.

■ Analysis: The pre-game mystery centered around Toledo QB Tucker Gleason’s status after he suffered a knee injury against Western Kentucky last week. He started on Saturday and didn’t even have a wrap on his knee.
