ASHBURN, Va. — The saying ‘adding insult to injury’ is to signify a bad situation getting even worse by something offensive or humiliating, paired with the wound. In Thursday night’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, however, the injuries are adding to the insult that came on the field when the Washington Commanders lost 27-18 in a game that was much worse than the final score would suggest.

It was the Packers who actually started off the night on the receiving end of the injury curse , losing three linemen before the game even started and receiver Jayden Reed to a broken collarbone early in the contest. By the end of the night, however, not only did the Commanders fall short on the scoreboard, but they came out with many more injury-bug bites than their opponent.
