LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear says his team is discussing the possibility of bringing state troopers to Louisville's interstates to help enforce traffic laws and free up Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) to address violent crime in the community.
Metro Council Republicans proposed the idea earlier this week , and now one Louisville business tells WHAS11 the presence of Kentucky State Police (KSP), specifically around construction zones with heavy traffic, would improve safety.
"Having the troopers there to kind of direct that, or at least prevent some of that, would be helpful," Carol Reeves said. "I don't want to see accidents, and I don't want to see people getting hurt trying to rush through traffic zones."
