Craig Revel Horwood has disclosed that his home nearly went up in flames - and has expressed his gratitude to a fire crew for rescuing his property.

The 60 year old television personality is understood to reside in a rural home situated between Peterborough and Rutland Water.

However, his residence almost succumbed to fire - before being rescued by the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue service.

Taking to social media at the weekend, the Strictly Come Dancing judge disclosed he had experienced a narrow escape from catastrophe.

Standing beside courageous firefighting emergency responders and a fully equipped fire engine, Craig disclosed that he was indebted to the individuals he was pictured with.
