PEKIN ( 25News Now ) - Illinois State Police said one person is dead after a multi-vehicle crash in Pekin early Saturday morning.

State Police said it happened just after 8 a.m. on Route 9 at 14th Street.

ISP said an SUV hit a pickup truck and a motorhome.

Pekin Police are asking people to avoid the area due to the accident.

In a post on Facebook Saturday morning, Pekin Police said “for the safety of all involved, roadways in this area are shut down at this time.”
