Released on September 12, The Long Walk is the latest in a string of cinematic Stephen King adaptations, being based on the novel of the same name. It follows Raymond Garraty (Cooper Hoffman), a young man who is selected to participate in a televised, government-sanctioned walking contest in which one boy from every state must walk a consistent pace of 3 miles per hour or be killed. The winner gets financial support for the rest of his life and one wish of his choosing.
In addition to Hoffman, the film stars David Jonsson, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Tut Nyot, Judy Greer, and Mark Hamill. Fitting for its dystopian setting, The Long Walk was helmed by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence.
So far, this adaptation has been well-received by fans and critics al
