An Upland man was fatally stabbed during a fight on the 13000 block of 9th Street in Chino just before midnight on Friday, Sept. 12, and two suspects were arrested, the Chino Police Department said.

A “verbal dispute” between the victim and multiple others became physical and the victim was stabbed, according to police.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old Angel Martinez. Martinez was transported to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Martinez and an 18-year-old Chino man, Joshua Rivera, verbally argued, police said. Later, Rivera returned to the scene with another man, 28-year-old Justin Rodriguez of Chino, and the physical altercation and stabbing unfolded, Chino police said.

Rivera and Rodriguez were both arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the West Valley
