Super speed has been a staple of superhero comics since the Golden Age. Although heroes like Superman and Silver Surfer use it as one of many secondary abilities, the concept is most famously associated with dedicated speedsters. Marvel’s Quicksilver runs faster than sound, while DC's many Flashes turned running fast into an art form in their universe.
