VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) - A firefighter was injured in a two-alarm triplex fire on Saturday in Vancouver, according to the fire department.

At about 11:30 a.m., crews with the Vancouver Fire Department responded to the home near Northeast 53rd Street and Northeast St. Johns Road. Neighbors said they heard “several explosions” before one of the three units caught fire.

Arriving crews found heavy black smoke pouring out of the front and rear doors in the two-story unit. The first floor was filled with flames that had reached the attic, but had not spread to the other units.

Firefighters said they were able to protect the other attached homes from the flames, but seven people were displaced due to fire damage in the attic.
