Tom Leonard has been waiting since April for a phone call from Attorney General Dana Nessel's office explaining why he was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the criminal case against 15 Republicans who signed a document falsely declaring President Donald Trump had won Michigan's 2020 presidential electoral votes.

He should get that call now, along with an official statement on the court record clearing his name. And so should his wife, Jenell Leonard, and GOP operative Stu Sandler, who were also named as unindicted co-conspirators in the case for reasons that appear rooted in political vindictiveness by the AG's office.

None of them have ever been told why they were alleged to have participated in criminal activity for which they were not charged.
