EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Now that a suspect has been taken into custody after the killing of Charlie Kirk earlier this week, there are a lot more questions that law enforcement are looking to answer as they continue their investigation.
12 News Law Enforcement Analyst Steven O'Donnell said authorities are currently deciding if the case could be taken up on the federal level.
"So the federal government could adopt the case and put into state court depending on statutes, or the state would prosecute that," he said. "What is going to happen now? It's very very time consuming, the case is nowhere near over."
Kirk, 31, was shot and killed during an event at Utah Valley University that was part of his "American Comeback Tour."
