Abbott Elementary 's executive producer recently released some interesting information about season 5, and it could very well be setting up an important character exiting the show. Abbott Elementary became an instant classic when it premiered in 2021, and fans have become attached to the characters over the past four seasons.

However, despite the show's and the actors' popularity, it's possible some actors will depart before the show's end. Quinta Brunson has said she's looking forward to moving on from Abbott Elementary and playing roles other than Janine in the future, although ABC executive Craig Erwich said her comments were misconstrued and there are no plans to end the show.

Even if Janine remains a main character to the end, there's no guarantee the other teachers will.
