URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — The Urbana Police Department arrested two suspects after an attempted vehicle burglary Saturday.
Police said an Urbana resident interrupted a burglary to his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway in the 700 block of Shurts Street.
According to police, an 18-year-old Urbana resident and a 23-year-old Champaign resident broke one of the car windows and one of them was inside. They ran when the owner confronted them.
Officers responded and detained the suspects within blocks of the initial scene, and they were positively identified by the victim. The two were arrested for burglary to a motor vehicle and are awaiting court proceedings.
