BOSTON — Jarren Duran spoke with Ceddanne Rafaela after his Red Sox teammate lined out to right fielder Cody Bellinger in the ninth inning Saturday.

“I was just talking to him, man,” Duran said. “He’s been a huge impact player on this team. I just want him to trust himself and keep putting those quality at-bats together.”

Rafaela had another tough game offensively in the Red Sox’ 5-3 loss to the Yankees here at Fenway Park.

The 24-year-old swung and missed at three pitches outside the strike zone with two runners in scoring position and one out in the second inning. He also struck out on a ball in the dirt with two runners on base and one out in the sixth inning.
