MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Heart Walk brought the community together Saturday to spotlight cardiovascular disease and teach lifesaving skills at McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg.

Greg Theis, vice president and chief dental officer at Delta Dental, emphasized the event's importance, which featured hands-only CPR demonstrations.

"Today's a great way for the community to come together and really support a great cause of learning and raising awareness for lifesaving measures with hands-only CPR," Theis said.

Theis has a personal connection to the cause, recalling an experience in Nashville, Tennessee, where he helped save a man suffering cardiac arrest.

"No one really knew what to do," Theis said. "With hands-only CPR, we were able to revive him while the paramedics came."
