While some South West councils are reconsidering their Food Organics and Garden Organics programs, the Town of Victoria Park will push forward with its own staged rollout.

According to recent media reports, some councils in the South West are considering scrapping FOGO collections because of high levels of contamination and a lack of local FOGO processing options.

Victoria Park mayor Karen Vernon said the council was committed to helping residents successfully adopt the system.

“Our waste calendar, educational materials, and customer service support are tailored to guide residents through the transition and help them to minimise contamination rates,” she said.
