CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — Three months after the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office said a woman turned herself in for inappropriate contact with a teen , the boy's family is now suing the non-profit residential program she worked at, claiming the program was neglectful, as she reportedly groomed him into an inappropriate relationship with her.

The suit , filed September 10 in the county's court of common pleas, claims AMIkids Sand Hills was negligent in addressing the messages between 31-year-old Florence Garland White of the Patrick community and the 15-year-old boy. Anna Magann, a lawyer with the McGowan, Hood, Felder, and Phillips firm , said the boy was placed into the program in January 2025 after he was caught joyriding with a friend in his father's work van.
