ATLANTA -- Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was removed from Saturday’s 6-2 win over the Braves in the third inning with right foot discomfort.
Altuve left the game after hitting a third inning single and then getting forced out at second base on a fielder’s choice. He ran off the field with no noticeable limp and was replaced defensively at second base in the bottom of the inning by Ramón Urías. Altuve was spotted sitting in the dugout a few innings later.
Altuve, who went 1-for-2 on Saturday, went 2-for-4 and swatted a solo homer -- his 25th of the season -- in Friday’s 11-3 win over the Braves. He entered Saturday leading the Astros in games played, at-bats, hits and home runs.
