SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Happening this weekend, a very powerful event for first responders and veterans in our area that you need to know about.

The event is happening on Notre Dame’s campus, followed by an amazing day of golf and fellowship.

This is being put by the Uncommon Grit Foundation , a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting military personnel, first responders and their families who came to awareness and assistance program.

Organization founder and retired U.S. Navy SEAL Darren McBurnett, along with John Wingfield, who’s on the Board of Directors, talks to us about this organization.

The Uncommon Grit Foundation’s Bone Frog Open kicks off on Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Foley Room at Notre Dame Stadium with drinks, finger foods and an auction. Guests
