A Latimer man charged with sexually abusing a 13-year-old child has also been accused of conspiring with his father to try to get the child and their sibling to recant their statements to law enforcement.

Nicohlas Franklin Passehl, 32, pleaded not guilty on Thursday to three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony, and one count of conspiracy to commit a non-forcible felony, a Class D felony.

His father, Jerry Wilbert Passehl, 67, Latimer, also pleaded not guilty Thursday to conspiracy to commit a non-forcible felony.

Their trials have been set for Oct. 21 in Franklin County District Court.

The younger Passehl is accused of sexually abusing the child three times in May 2024.
