The Needle Arts Guild of Toledo and the Black Swamp Quilters’ Guild will present a three-day Festival of fine arts this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
According to plans shared by members of both organizations, the third biennial festival will be an opportunity to see fine art in action through demonstrations as well as admire the hundreds of pieces of artwork members will have on display.
Su Pellitieri’s Santa Claus needlepoint work is one example of the patience and artistry needleworkers have. As a longtime member of the needlework group, Su decided to honor her husband, Tom, stitching a portrait of him as Santa. Tom has made people happy playing Santa for the Channel 13 Toy Drive, the Toledo Holiday Parade, and as the strolling Santa in Grand Rapids during the Christmas Open House.
