NORTH CANTON ‒ A 30-year-old city man is accused of stabbing a person in the neck just before midnight Sept. 13 in the 900 block of Pittsburg Avenue NW, police said .
Branden N. Grindle, who apparently didn't know the victim, is charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and is being held at the Stark County Jail.
He was taken into custody following a manhunt that involved Jackson Township police and one of its K-9 units, and the North Canton Fire Department's drone equipped with infrared thermal imaging.
Grindle is accused of entering a backyard and stabbing the person in the side of the neck with an unknown object, causing severe lacerations, and then fleeing, police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
