LAKEWOOD, Ohio - The years-long work to rehab Interstate 90 in western Cuyahoga County takes a new twist this week with the closing of an entrance ramp from Lakewood.
The westbound entrance ramp at McKinley Avenue will be closed on Monday, and remain closed through December for pavement replacement, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced.
About 6,200 vehicles a day typically use that ramp. Motorists are being asked to detour by taking South Marginal Road to Alger Road and then entering I-90 west.
The work is part of a $173 million overhaul of I-90 spanning from West Boulevard in Cleveland to Hilliard Boulevard in Rocky River. Plans call for new pavement, upgraded median barriers, wider shoulders, improved drainage and modern overhead lighting.
