ORLANDO, Fla. – As of 8 a.m. Sunday, the National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on a tropical wave that’s been showing some signs of organization, though it’s still pretty disorganized with showers and storms.

It’s dealing with wind shear and dry air, which are holding things back for now, but conditions should improve later this week, giving it a better shot at developing.

The NHC is giving it a 10% chance of forming over the next two days and a 70% chance over the next week. We might see a tropical depression form by mid to late week, but there’s still plenty of time to track it.

If it strengthens into a storm, the next name on the list is Gabrielle. Sunday 8 a.m.
