Friend says 'can't believe it' as tributes made to Ricky Hatton
Tributes have been flooding in since the devastating news emerged that British boxing legend Ricky Hatton was discovered dead at his home in Manchester on Sunday morning, September 14.
Greta Simspon, a reporter for our sister title at the Manchester Evening News , went to Gee Cross where one person, who claimed to be a close friend of Hatton, had travelled down from Scotland upon hearing the heartbreaking news. He received the phone call at about 8am, and said: "I've just cried for four or five hours, the whole drive down. I can't believe it."
Fellow boxing champion Tyson Fury took to social media to pay tribute to Hatton, and shared some photos of the pair together.
He wrote on Instagram: "RIP to the legend @rickyha
