RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction Emily Anne Gullickson issued a strong condemnation Saturday morning in response to reports of Virginia school personnel celebrating or condoning the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on social media.

Kirk, the 31-year-old CEO of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. The assassination has sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability across the nation.
