Stan Grot described the past two-plus years as “pure hell” and “a cloud hanging over my head” as he and 14 others were accused of attempting to falsely certify President Donald Trump as the winner of the 2020 presidential election.

“It’s difficult to be accused of something I didn’t do,” Grot said last week in an interview with The Macomb Daily and in a separate interview on WJR-AM (760). “It affects your family, it affects your friendships. People look at you a little differently, sometimes without saying what they really think. It’s a cloud hanging over my head for over two years, 2-½ years. It hurts when you know you did nothing wrong, and you’re being accused of a very serious crime. Personally it hurts. But justice prevailed. The judge did her homework.”
