Many Portlanders woke up to rain on Sunday morning, but it won’t stick around for long.

Showers are expected in the Portland area throughout the morning, but forecasters at the National Weather Service expect skies to dry out and the sun to emerge on Sunday afternoon. The high temperature on Sunday will be around 70 degrees.

Temperatures will heat up fast this week. Forecasters expect the skies will clear gradually on Monday for a sunny day with a high of 74. Then Tuesday gets hot: temperatures could be up to 87 degrees, forecasters say.

Forecasters expect high temperatures for the rest of the workweek to fall back into the 70s.
