LOS ANGELES – A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver late Saturday night in Mid-City.

Los Angeles Police Department and Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a fatal crash at the intersection of Venice Blvd. and LaBrea Ave. around 10:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, they located a male victim who was unresponsive and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Witnesses described the man as having just bought some Modelo beers at the liquor store, who was struck and killed when he was walking across the street.

The witness also reported that the vehicle involved was a newer model grey Honda sedan, which fled the scene heading northbound on La Brea Avenue from the intersection of Venice Boulevard.
