CASTLE SHANNON, Pa. —

A man is facing criminal homicide charges after police say he intentionally set fire to a home in Castle Shannon that injured one and killed another on Sunday morning.

Allegheny County police said officials were called to the 809 block of Corbett Drive before 10 a.m. following reports of a house fire. Advertisement

When first responders arrived at the scene, they said a 19-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The second victim was last said to be in critical condition.

Detectives said preliminary information shows the fire was intentionally set by a man known to the victims. That man was later identified as 46-year-old Brian Shelleby.
