GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A 34-year-old woman was arrested and charged with trafficking drugs for a violent Mexican drug cartel in Gwinnett County, according to warrants.
Authorities said that when they arrested Celia Lara Rios, they found the second-largest amount of fentanyl that they have ever seen in Georgia.
How much exactly?
Prosecutors said that law enforcement recovered 25 kilograms of fentanyl, which is enough to kill 12 million people -- or roughly the equivalent of the population of both Georgia and Delaware. It takes just two milligrams of fentanyl to kill the average-sized adult.
Rios was taken into custody by Auburn Police on July 14 off Pleasant Hill Road in Lawrenceville.
