LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Louisville Metro Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Sunday morning in the Phoenix Hill neighborhood.

Just before 11 a.m., officers were called out to the 700 block of East Muhammad Ali Boulevard on a report of a shooting.

When they got to the scene, police found a man believed to be between 30 and 40 years old shot to death inside a vehicle behind the property.

The man was not transported to the hospital from the scene, but police said the Jefferson County Coroner's Office was notified.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
