You can never have enough quality pitching, a fact the Blue Jays are well aware of as they move deep into the stretch drive of their most successful seasons in a decade
With that in mind, help is on the way as the team has recalled one of their most highly-touted pitching arms in years. Trey Yesavage, the crafty right-hander whom the Jays selected in the first round (20th overall) of the 2024 draft, has arrived in Toronto and is ready to join the team.
And the team won’t wait long to see what the fuss is all about. Manager John Schneider announced on Sunday that Yesavage’s first big-league appearance will be a start on Monday in Tampa when the Jays face the Rays in the first of a four-game series to commence a six-game road trip.
“It’s insane,” Yesavage said in the Jays dugout on Sunday
