BATON ROUGE – Conference play started for the majority of college football teams in Week 3.

It did for LSU football as Brian Kelly 's squad got off to an ideal start in the win-loss column with a win over rival Florida, 20-10 , in the Southeastern Conference Saturday night inside Tiger Stadium.

Led by sophomore safety Dashawn Spears , who had two interceptions including one pick-6, the Tigers' defense paved the way for LSU for the third straight week to open the 2025 college football season. Safeties A.J. Haulcy and Tamarcus Cooley as well as freshman cornerback D.J. Pickett all had an interception, giving LSU five on the night against Florida quarterback D.J. Lagway and company.
