NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) - Three scouts in Newburgh have been named as the first Eagle Scouts for Newburgh’s all female scout troop.

Cora Wininger, Zoe Mann, and Stephanie Panayides have all earned the top honors in the troop that was founded in 2020.

According to Scout officials, only about 6% of Scouts nationwide earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

On May 8, Wininger and Mann completed their projects to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

Wininger’s project redid bathrooms at the Isaiah 117 House in Spencer County to create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for children in crisis.

Mann built bat boxes at Mesker Park Zoo to help conservation efforts and provide safe habitat for the local bat population.
