A power outage impacting over 1,300 Colorado Springs Utilities customers left traffic lights black and homes and businesses without power for over an hour Sunday morning.

From about 9:45 to 10:50 a.m., Utilities customers near the Colorado Springs Airport were without power, according to the utility company. The cause of the outage was unknown.

The airport's backup generators kicked on quickly, said Aidan Ryan, airport spokesperson, so there was no passenger impact or delayed flights.

Ryan said the only resource the generator didn't power were the traffic lights on Milton E Proby Parkway, the road leading to the airport.
