SYLVANIA, Ga. (WTOC) - The family of a 5-year-old girl who was hit and killed by a car is remebering her.

5-year-old Kyleigh was tragically killed on Sept. 11 while waiting for the school bus .

Officials say a Dodge Dart was traveling northbound on Whitehill Road in Screven County. While waiting at the bus stop, GSP says, “The child darted into the roadway for an unknown reaon and was struck.”

Kyleigh was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

A fundraiser for the family is scheduled to take place Tuesday, Sept 16, from 6pm - 9pm at Billie Joe’s Place in Sylvania. 40% of all proceeds will go towards Kyleigh’s family.

Organizers ask the community to please join them in lifting the family as they go through this difficult time.
