Team Europe wrapped up its final Ryder Cup prep event on Sunday at the BMW PGA Championship, with the golf world now counting down the days to the showdown at Bethpage Black.

But while the tournament at Wentworth marked the end of competitive play for Europe's squad, the day itself was far from over.

Rory McIlroy revealed during his post-round press conference, Team Europe was headed straight to New York for a practice trip the same night.

"It's been OK. I think we definitely are getting into Ryder Cup mode," McIlroy told reporters after shooting a final-round 65 . "We had a really good team dinner on Tuesday night with the caddies, and the wives and the partners were there, as well. We're getting ready to go on this practice trip tonight to New York."
