LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities are investigating the cause after a Sunday afternoon fire left a home heavily burned in Lexington County.
The Lexington County Fire Service said crews were called to the Park Road area around 2 p.m. to reports of a two-story home that was on fire. Authorities said crews found the home burning heavily when they arrived.
As firefighters responded, police in Lexington announced that, due to the fire between 200 and 400 Park Road, traffic was being detoured onto Rama Lane and Brookhill East around the scene.
Officials stated later in the afternoon that the fire appeared to be out, and police reported that Park Road had reopened around 5 p.m.
