SALT LAKE CITY — National Parks in Southern Utah say they’ve lifted fire restrictions after wet weather conditions hit the parks.

Canyonlands National Park Service announced on Saturday that rainfall and higher humidity levels are to thank for the restrictions being lifted.

“Fire restrictions have been lifted in Southeast Utah Group parks (Arches & Canyonlands national parks, Hovenweep & Natural Bridges national monuments),” the park service said.

The CNPS first increased its fire restrictions in June when the temperatures remained high and the area was in a prolonged drought. The restrictions were later lowered to a stage one restriction late August.
