FROSTPROOF, Fla. (WFLA) — A man is dead after a drowning that occurred in Polk County on Sunday afternoon.
In a video posted to social media, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd provided minimal details on the incident, which took place on Lake Clinch in Frostproof.
According to the sheriff, marine deputies assisted by Frostproof Fire Rescue received a call regarding a man who was drowning in the lake. However, when they arrived, the sheriff said the man was already underwater.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was able to recover the body, but the man was already pronounced dead.
The victim’s family has been notified.
