INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened on the north side of Indianapolis late Saturday afternoon.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of East 43rd Street and North Meridian Street around 4:04 p.m. to investigate a crash. When police arrived at the scene, they found two cars that appeared to have been involved in the crash.

Upon further investigation of the crash scene, police located a person who had been ejected from one of the vehicles involved in the crash. That individual was transported from the scene to an area hospital in critical condition.

In an update sent Sunday evening, IMPD confirmed that the person who was ejected from a car during the crash had died at the hospital.
