SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Scarborough High School will adjust its schedule this week following the unexpected death of Assistant Principal Jacob Brown, according to district officials.
Superintendent Diane Nadeau announced Brown's death Sunday in a letter to families, calling him "a beloved member of our school community, whose care and commitment touched the lives of many students, staff, and families."
On Monday, the high school will not hold regular classes or vocational programming. Instead, students may come to the school beginning at 10 a.m. for access to counseling and support. Attendance will not be taken, according to a community message from Principal Nathan Theriault.
