MINNEAPOLIS -- James McCann drove in four runs as the Diamondbacks continued to keep their long-shot postseason hopes alive with a 6-4 win over the Twins on Sunday afternoon at Target Field.

McCann, who was released by the Braves' Triple-A team in June and signed by the Diamondbacks, was the hero, summing up where Arizona is at this point.

The collapse of the Mets (77-73) has allowed the Diamondbacks to get back into the race for the final NL Wild Card spot. After being decimated by injuries and selling off veterans at the Trade Deadline, they have relied on contributions from unlikely places.

Another unlikely addition was Nabil Crismatt, who was released from Triple-A with the Phillies in August, started and allowed just two unearned runs over five innings.
