The Massachusetts State Police reports that its Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, or Truck Team, conducted an “enforcement blitz” along the Mass Pike between the New York border and Boston last week, resulting in hundreds of citations.

According to MSP, the blitz was the “most productive” Truck Team enforcement action to date, and resulted in the following: • 369 commercial motor vehicle stops • 310 inspections • 767 violations issued • 79 out-of-service vehicles/drivers combined • $56,770 in fines • 3 criminal enforcement actions (1 arrest and 2 summonses)

The MSP, alongside the Springfield, Chicopee, and Holyoke Police Departments as well as the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a two-day joint operation targeting street racing and “street takeovers.”
