Detroit — They were friends before they were enemies.

But that only added to the laughs Sunday as the Lions welcomed back Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears with a reminder of what he left behind in Detroit.

The fun included, as a get-right game for the home team — 52-21 was the final tally in this Motor City mauling — dispelled much of the season-opening gloom that followed the Lions’ Week 1 loss in Green Bay.

And nowhere was that more evident than in a celebratory moment in the first half, long before the wheels came off for Johnson’s bumbling Bears in front of a sellout crowd of 64,201 at Ford Field.
