WILLIAMSPORT, PA – A federal inmate at FCI Allenwood has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison after being caught with a makeshift weapon during a random search, prosecutors announced.

Eric Rodriguez, 32, received a 21-month sentence from Chief U.S. District Judge Matthew W. Brann after pleading guilty to possessing contraband in prison.

According to court records, Rodriguez was indicted by a federal grand jury after officers discovered a razor blade with a handle wrapped in electrical tape during a pat-down. He later admitted to possessing the prohibited item.

The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger.
