WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Public Health Director at the Woodford County Health Department, Cassie Prather, tells us flu season is already here.
“The people that need the flu shot the most are the young and the old and the immune compromised, because they’re the most at risk for developing secondary infections or more severe symptoms,” Prather says.
She says right now is the perfect time to re-up your flu shot.
“If you haven’t had the flu shot and you get the flu, it typically hits you a little bit harder, lasts longer, the symptoms are worse and so that can mean, you know, a week or so out of work,” Prather says.
